Item Master QC

Add and maintain Quality Control related values for each item through this master. Details include whether quality check for the item while purchasing it is required or not, Lead Time taken for quality checks and Percentage of the sample which should be checked.

 

Further Quality Control Plan for each Item can be specified through QC Parameter Version Control Entry option.

 

A list of all Items defined through Item Master Basic Detail - Entry option in Materials Module will be displayed as follows -

 

Search:

Enter any text you want to search in the list below. The search is applicable to all columns of the list. Once the text is entered, press <ENTER> key. As a result, the list will be refreshed with all those records that contain the entered text fully or partially. In order to go back to the original list, remove the text from the box and press <ENTER> key again.

 

Click on the icon on its corresponding record to enter QC details for the Item. To view QC details of a particular Item, <DoubleClick> on that record. As a result, following screen will be displayed -

Please note that you can not 'Delete' an already existing QC data for an Item.

Field Description of Item Master QC

Item Code:

Denotes the Item Code for which QC data have to be specified.

 

The Item Code of the selected record will be displayed automatically.

Lead Time:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 4)

Denotes the lead time taken for the Quality related procedures for the selected Item.

 

If the QC details have already been entered, Lead Time will be displayed as per the QC details entered for the selected Item Code. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

If the QC details have NOT been entered for the selected Item, enter the Lead Time required for the quality check of the selected Item.

 

Sample Size:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 3.4)

Specifies the percentage of sample that should be taken for the Quality related procedures for the selected Item.

 

If the QC details have NOT been entered for the selected Item, enter the Sample Size in percentage. It can not be more than 100%.

 

If the QC details have already been entered, Sample Size will be displayed as per the QC details entered for the selected Item Code. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

QC Required:

Denotes whether QC is required for the selected Item or not.

 

If the QC details have already been entered, the status of the flag will be displayed as per the QC details entered for that Item. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

If the QC details have NOT been entered for the selected Item, the value of this field (On / Off) is by default displayed as specified in 'QC Required' field of Item Master Basic Detail - Entry option of Materials Module. But it can be changed here. Turn the flag 'On' by clicking on it if QC has to done for the Item otherwise keep it 'Off'.

 

Final QC Required:

Denotes whether or not the Item requires final QC to be done as a whole after all Operations have been carried out.

 

Further, whether an Item requires final QC or not depends upon the setting of flag 'Final QC Required' through QC Policy option in Administrator Tools Module.

 

If the QC details have already been entered, value of this field will be displayed as per the QC details entered for the selected Item Code. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

If the QC details have NOT been entered for the selected Item, the status of flag 'Final QC Required' set through QC Policy option in Administrator Tools Module will be displayed here by default. You can change it. Turn the flag 'On' by clicking on it if the final QC is required otherwise keep it 'Off'.

 

Test Certification Required:

Denotes whether Test Certificate is required or not for the selected Item.

 

If the QC details have already been entered, value of this field will be displayed as per the QC details entered for the selected Item Code. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

Turn the flag 'On' by clicking on it if Test Certificate is required for the Item. Otherwise keep it 'Off'.

 

Once you have entered all the information related to the QC, click on 'Save' button to save it or 'Cancel' button to discard. The control will go back to the list.
